VISITORS: NO VISITORS are permitted in all Peninsula Regional Health System facilities, including PRMC and Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. We have taken this step to help us protect our patients and staff from possible COVID-19 exposure and out of respect for social distancing measures.

Exceptions to these restrictions can be made in specific circumstances, including:

  • End-of-life care
  • One parent or caregiver of pediatric patients as long as not symptomatic.
  • Labor and delivery – one support person or postpartum helper.

The Junior Board Shop is closed. The Junior Board Cafe, located in the Hanna Outpatient entrance, and the Pines Cafe in the Ocean Pines Health Pavilion,  will offer to-go meals from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

TAWES NURSING HOME & CHESAPEAKE COVE: NO visitors are permitted, to protect this vulnerable population.

LABOR & DELIVERY: If you’re having a baby, you will be permitted to have a partner with you, as long as that person does not have any symptoms or exposure to COVID-19. Please keep siblings at home and introduce baby in the safety and comfort of your home upon your discharge.

SENDING FLOWERS/BALLOONS/GIFTS: Out of an abundance of caution, Peninsula Regional Medical Center is temporarily suspending the delivery of flowers, balloons and other gifts to patients and staff starting Monday. The CDC has said that it may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. Even though this is not considered to be the main way the virus spreads, we want to be proactive in protecting our patients and staff. We encourage loved ones to save flowers, balloons and other gifts to be delivered when the patient has returned home, so they can enjoy the gift during their recovery. We apologize for the inconvenience. You may still send your loved one an e-card to cheer them during their stay: https://www.peninsula.org/patients-visitors/send-e-card

VENDORS: For now, we are only permitting vendors whose assistance with critical procedures is required -- unless that vendor has flu-like symptoms, in which case they will not be permitted to enter. Non-essential vendors, please refrain from visiting our facilities until further notice.

OUTPATIENT SERVICES: Many are canceled. Click for the list. All Peninsula Regional Medical Group and Nanticoke Physician Network offices, specialty practices and immediate care centers remain open for patient appointments. However, due to COVID-19 concerns and to better ensure the protection of our patients and staff, no additional people will be allowed in the waiting rooms. We ask those who are driving patients to their appointments to please wait in their vehicles.
