The Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute team will be on your side throughout your treatment, offering the largest number of options on the Eastern Shore and the unique benefit of a multidisciplinary, team approach that brings all specialists to the table to explore your best options and make sure you get the most effective plan of care possible. It is important for your specialists to work as a team, as many cancers require more than one type of treatment. Our team approach makes sure they are all working together for you.

Surgery is often the first treatment step for people with cancer. Peninsula Regional Medical Center’s experienced surgeons put their skills to work in state-of-the-art operating rooms, and offer minimally invasive and robotic surgery performed with the daVinci Surgical Robot. Our "patient first" philosophy is coupled with clinical excellence and a commitment to innovation. No one on the Eastern Shore has more experience; More than 13,000 surgical procedures are performed annually at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
