The Patient Access staff and all of the employees of Peninsula Regional Medical Center want your experience to surpass your expectations. This information will help you prepare for your stay or visit with us.

Scheduling / Pre Registration
You or your physician’s office may schedule outpatient diagnostic tests and procedures ordered by your physician in advance.

To schedule an outpatient diagnostic test or procedure at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, please call 410-543-7700 or 1-800-235-8645.

Outpatient Surgeries and inpatient admissions will be coordinated directly with Peninsula Regional Medical Center by your physician’s office.

Your Health Insurance
We strive to meet your needs and those of your insurance company while ensuring that your visit is covered to the maximum amount allowable according to your health plan. There are many insurers and many distinct coverage plans. It is important that you play an active role in understanding and meeting your insurance requirements. We will be in contact with your insurance provider and can inform you of your coverage information for the services provided.

To ease your admission to the Medical Center, we will begin the paperwork as soon as your doctor informs us of the scheduled service date. A pre-admission officer may call you at home to verify basic information, such as the name of your employer, your contact information including address and the type of insurance you carry. If you prefer, when you are informed of your scheduled service, you may call us at 410-543-7700 or 1-800-235-8645 to complete the pre-admission process.

It is most important that Peninsula Regional Medical Center has your correct insurance information. Even if we have your insurance information on file from a previous visit, we will verify it with you again in order to prevent any billing problems. Each visit may be uniquely covered and based upon your insurance and the reason for your visit, your claim may need to be billed to your health insurance, worker’s compensation, auto or liability insurance. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the type of coverage provided by your insurance provider and that you know whether you have met all of the necessary preauthorization/referral requirements. In addition, your insurance may require that you notify them prior to or within a certain number of hours after service or admission. Please check your coverage and be sure to make the necessary notification.

If you belong to a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or a Managed Care Organization (MCO) or participate in a Medicare Advantage Plan, be sure your primary care provider is aware of your impending Medical Center service and is prepared to submit the referral to authorize that service.

On the day of your arrival, you should be prepared to pay your deductible or co-payment. In certain cases, an admission deposit may be required. The pre-admission officer will discuss the deposit with you.

If you have an questions, please ask the registrar, or after your visit please call us at 1-877-729-7762.
