Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) and its Family Practice offices welcome motivated candidates to continue their learning in a clinical environment through the Preceptorship Program with the intent to receive personal instruction, training and supervision to meet your program requirements while increasing your understanding of health care in a rural community.

PRMC offers preceptorships to medical, physician assistant and advanced practice nursing students thanks to agreements with colleges and universities throughout the country.

To start the application process, follow the steps below.  For additional information, call the Medical Education Coordinator at 410-912-2912 or email

STEP 1    Confirm Affiliation Agreement

Using the link below, please confirm that your college/university is listed as having a current affiliation agreement with Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

If your college/university is not included on the list, please have your program representative contact us at 410-912-2912 or to initiate an agreement.  Requests for agreements will be based on preceptor availability and can take several weeks for completion.

STEP 2    Find a Preceptor

Our organization does not match students requesting a preceptorship with a physician or advanced practice provider.  Please utilize our web site → Find A Doctor → Physician Directory to search physicians and advanced practice providers by specialty.  You will need to make contact with our providers to request a potential preceptorship.

STEP 3    Submit Agreement and Documentation

Once you have established a preceptor, please print and complete the Preceptorship Agreement along with all required documentation and forward to Jill North, Medical Education Coordinator at .  Please note that you must obtain a college/university representative signature and the provider signature prior to submission.  If the provider is an Advanced Practice Provider, i.e. Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Anesthetist or Certified Nurse-Midwife, you must also obtain their signature along with their Supervising Physician’s signature.  Once all paperwork is received and approved, the Medical Education Coordinator will contact you and issue clearance to begin your clinical rotation.  An ID Badge will be issued and required to be worn during your clinical rotation.

STEP 4    Surgical Orientation (if applicable)

Preceptorships with a surgeon require the completion of an OR Orientation.  Please contact Susan Lynch at to schedule.  Depending on availability, the orientation may be scheduled for your first scheduled day when planned in advance.  Following successful completion of the OR Orientation, Susan will sign the designated area on the Preceptorship Agreement.
