Look Good Feel Better

Beauty professionals help people undergoing cancer treatment to manage some of the outward side effects through tips on wig selection and care, skin care and makeup application, ways to deal with dry skin and discolored nails, as well as style tips on scarves, turbans and hats. Free Vascular Screening

The Guerrieri Heart & Vascular Institute offers free vascular screenings for people 55 or older, by appointment. All screenings will be performed at Peninsula Regional Medical Center between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Appointments are required - call 410-543-7123.

The free screenings will include ultrasound testing for carotid artery blockage and abdominal aortic aneurysm, and ankle-brachial index tests for peripheral artery disease.

Friends & Family CPR

The Family & Friends CPR course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult hands-only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for adults, children, and infants. Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR, but do NOT need a CPR course completion card for professional use. It is ideal for new parents, grandparents, babysitters, and others interested in learning how to save a life. The class will be held from 9-11 a.m. in the Avery W.

Better Breathers Club

The Better Breathers Club is a free support group for adults with chronic lung disease. Monthly meetings offer support and education for individuals with asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, lung cancer, and other respiratory problems.
Family members and caregivers are also welcome to attend.

The group meets in the Respiratory Classroom, Room #2615, 2nd floor of Peninsula Regional Medical Center’s C wing. Use the Volunteer Services entrance near the Visitor Parking Garage, then take Elevator B to 2nd floor. Turn right off the elevator; the classroom is at the end of the hall.

Breastfeeding Class February 2020

This 2 hour, from 6-8 pm class will prepare parents for a great breastfeeding experience. Please feel free to bring a support person with you. Studies show that breastfeeding is more successful when Mom has loving, knowledgeable support. Come and learn the basics of breastfeeding, proper positioning of baby, how to avoid common problems, and how to pump and store milk. Videos help to demonstrate the proper techniques for successful nursing.
