Junior Auxiliary Board Donates $50,000 Towards Their Pledge for the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Emergency Department
The Junior Auxiliary Board held its Spring Volunteer Luncheon on May 2, 2012, and presented a check for $50,000 to Peninsula Regional Medical Center during the event.
Peninsula Regional President/CEO Dr. Peggy Naleppa, MS, MBA, FACHE, Cindy Lunsford, Executive Vice President/COO, and Patti Serkes, Director of the PRMC Education Department, were on hand to accept the check from Junior Board President Cynthia Holloway and Past President Susan Peacock. The funds will go toward the Junior Board’s pledge to PRMC’s trauma center.
Also at the luncheon, volunteers were honored for their 26,572 hours of service to the Junior Auxiliary Board over the past year. Through its 88-year history, the Junior Auxiliary Board has contributed many thousands of volunteer hours and worked hard on fundraising efforts to support Peninsula Regional Medical Center. To date, the group has donated more than $8 million for equipment, special programs, nursing scholarships and capital improvements.
Its volunteers also provide hand-knitted hats for babies at the Medical Center, fleece caps for cancer patients, post-surgical “hugging pillows” for heart, lung abdominal and breast surgery patients, and gifts for the first baby of the year. Junior Board membership is open to everyone in the community. For information on joining, call Volunteer Coordinator Faye Holloway at 410-543-7262.
