Endoscopy Patient Entrance and Directions

The Endoscopy Center at Peninsula Regional Medical Center provides services to outpatients and inpatients requiring endoscopy or testing for a variety of gastrointestinal or pulmonary conditions.

Our gastroenterologists and surgeons perform endoscopies of the esophagus, stomach and colon. Our pulmonary specialists perform bronchoscopy, or an endoscopy of the lungs.

PillCam/Capsule Endoscopy
One of the newest advances in G.I. diagnostic testing was recently added to our center. PillCam or Capsule Endoscopy is now available. This device, swallowed by the patient, takes thousands of pictures of the small bowel and esophagus, enabling a G.I. specialist to diagnose certain conditions without endoscopy.

Heartburn Center
The Heartburn Center staff performs testing to evaluate acid reflux and esophageal and rectal motility disorders. A recent addition to this service is the Bravo pH monitoring capsule, a device temporarily implanted in the esophagus to measure the severity of acid reflux.
