Breastfeeding Classes

Breastfeeding classes are offered monthly.  Designed for the expectant mom or newly delivered mom, the course covers the advantages of breastfeeding, how to get started and common difficulties encountered. For more information or to register call 410-543-7126.

Lactation Consults

After delivery at Peninsula Regional, you will be visited by a board certified lactation consultant or a specially-trained Mother/Baby nurse.  Breastfeeding questions may be discussed at that time. You will be provided with a journal to track your baby’s feedings for the first week, information about breastfeeding, local resources for breastfeeding information and supplies.

The Breastfeeding Helpline

This is a service provided at no charge by Peninsula Regional.  Moms may call with questions and a lactation consultant (IBCLC) will contact her the next business day to discuss any concerns. Reach the Breastfeeding Helpline by calling 410-543-7199.

Lactation Outpatient Support Services

Breastfeeding outpatient support services help moms to achieve their breastfeeding goals, and are provided free for Peninsula Regional breastfeeding families.  These services include an office visit with the lactation consultant to work through problems. Problems may require only one visit or several until breastfeeding is progressing well.  To schedule an appointment call the Breastfeeding Helpline at 410-543-7199.
