Peninsula Regional Medical Center - Part of Peninusula Regional Health System
Robotic Surgery

The da Vinci Surgical System Robot is a key PILARS component.  It allows surgeons to be less invasive and more precise than ever.  Using the robot's four arms and advanced 3D imaging, the surgeon's hand and finger movements are translated into corresponding micro-movements with extraordinary accuracy and with a level of stability unseen before.

One of the keys to the advanced da Vinci system is the remarkable picture and viewing options it provides surgeons.  Cameras transmit back to the surgeon a magnified, three-dimensional, full color look inside the patient that is 10 times larger than the actual surgical area, with a 360-degree field of vision and the ability to zoom in and out and move side to side.

These enhanced and magnified views assure patients receive the best possible outcomes through a faster procedure, with less blood loss and quicker recovery times.

Every one of our surgeons working with the da Vinci Surgical Robot has undergone extensive training on the system.  Peninsula Regional Medical Center pioneered da Vinci use on the Delmarva Peninsula.  Each of our surgeons using the da Vinci Robot is not only highly experienced but exceptionally skilled.
