Traffic Changes at Same Day Surgery and Labor & Delivery Entrance April 28-May 1

The current operating room renovation and expansion project at Peninsula Regional will soon result in a temporary change in traffic patterns around the Medical Center’s Same Day Surgery and Labor & Delivery entrance.  Crews will be removing the existing pavement, grading and applying a stone base, repaving the drive and adding traffic striping to the circular entrance on Vine Street.  Work will begin on Saturday, April 28.

During the four day project, the Same Day Surgery and Labor & Delivery entrance will remain open to pedestrian traffic at all times, including patients and visitors, but vehicle traffic will be prohibited in the drive leading up to the entrance while construction is underway.

On Saturday, April 28th, the existing pavement will be removed.  On the 29th, the drive will be graded and prepared for repaving.  On Monday, April 30th the new pavement will be applied, and on Tuesday, May 1st, traffic and directional striping will be applied.  By early in the day on May 1st, all work on the entrance will be finalized and it will be reopened to vehicle traffic.

These dates, however, are subject to weather conditions which could postpone any or all of the segments of this project.  Signage will be posted to assist drivers and visitors, and construction flag men will direct traffic.  Valet parkers will help those drivers needing assistance.

PRMC appreciates the public’s patience and understanding during these brief interruptions in traffic flow.
