Peninsula Regional Medical Center - Part of Peninusula Regional Health System

PLUS Volunteers

In 1970 a small group of caring folks formed the PLUS Volunteer Services program at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.  Today approximately 250 volunteers from many different walks of life contribute their time and energy.  These friends of the Medical Center, and those who have gone before them, have given over 1.5 million hours of service.  Volunteers provide an added dimension of human concern through personal service to patients, staff and other customers we serve.  They are a bridge between the Medical Center and the community.  From 14 to ageless, they learn and serve, sharing their life experiences with others.

Numerous areas of placement are available in patient care, clerical and support staff services.  This offers opportunities to those who wish to assist patients and families as well as those who prefer to help behind the scenes.  In addition, PLUS Volunteers may be called upon to help with special events as well as projects.  Learning experiences can be planned for high school and college students seeking career experience.

You may call the PLUS Volunteers office at 410-543-7284 for more information about becoming a PLUS Volunteer.  Fill out an application with two references, a three hour orientation class and a mandatory background check are all required.  After printing and completing the application, please return that to  the PLUS Volunteer office or send it by U.S. Mail to PLUS Volunteer Services, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, 100 East Carroll Street, Salisbury, Maryland 21801.
