Women’s Heart Program

American Women Leading Death Causes

Did you know that 40% of all female deaths in the United States occur from heart disease, also known as cardiovascular diseases? In fact, cardiovascular disease kills more American women each year than the next seven most prominent causes combined, including breast cancer. Cardiovascular disease claims 500,000 women a year, and statistics indicate that over 60% of those women had no previous symptoms.

That's why Peninsula Regional Medical Center is offering FREE heart disease risk assessments to women who have no past history of cardiovascular disease.

The Women’s Heart Program offers cholesterol and HDL test, ankle/brachial index, resting 12 lead EKG, coronary risk factor analysis, body fat measurement, body mass index, waist to hip ratio, blood pressure and pulse oximetry testing, a review of current medications, exercise and nutrition suggestions and a follow-up care plan.
